For the past two years, photography has been a very strong passion of mine.  It’s been only recently, however, that it has become more of a focus, so it is only fitting that my first post on this site be about photography (being that it is a site for my photography and all).  I have been putting my work out for people to see since the very beginning and seeing my progress has kept me striving to continue to move forward– whether or not people actually enjoy my work is a different story, but my friends have always been great supporters of what I do.

One of these great supporters is Steven Cheung, also one of my best friends.  He came down to San Jose yesterday because we had a meeting with Jason from RE3 about the design for his new label Freeligion Music.  We discussed logo designs, banners, photography, RE3′s coming anniversary party, and Freeligion Music as a whole.  As the meeting ended with ideas bouncing around, and we parted ways with Jason, Steven came over to discuss details of futures shoots and plans for the progression of Freeligion.  As we parked our cars and headed to my doorway, he reached into his bag and pulled out a book. “I got you something,” as he handed me the book.  It was  Juxtapoz Photo.

Honestly, this small book is probably one of the best gifts I have gotten in a really long time.  Steven has always told me how much he has loved and supported my photography.  From when I started, to this very point, he has always shown me his support, and having support like that, even if it’s from just one person, motivates you to continue doing what you love.  His support has made me do the same to the people I have in my life.  Strive for everything you hope; your passions can become your life.

So in support of one if my best friends, check out Freeligon Music.  In his constant to effort to support those around him, Freeligion has become a record label and blog that strives for the advancement of independent artists. It believes in following your passions and living the life you love. It is also a project that I am proud to be a part of (Freeligion x CM Photography).

Don’t dream while you sleep, but as you wake.
